Section 31 - Representation by Authorized Individuals

Section 31 outlines the rules for individuals who are involved in legal proceedings under this Act to be represented by someone else. If someone is required or allowed to appear before an adjudicating authority, revisional authority, or the Appellate Tribunal, they can choose to have an authorized representative appear on their behalf, unless they need to be present personally for an examination under oath or affirmation.

An "authorized representative" is defined as someone who has been given permission by the person involved in the proceedings to represent them. This representative can be a relative or regular employee of the person, a legal practitioner who is qualified to practice in any Civil Court in India, or any person who has the prescribed qualifications needed for such representation.
